Coming from a family of actors, ballet dancers and musicians, Maya grew up within a very creative environment. From a young age she was fascinated by the arts, theatre and film. Always experimenting with makeup on her friends and family (even her brother) there began the start of a journey which has led her to where she is today.

After completing an art course in the UK, Maya migrated to New Zealand. It was time to make her dream a reality and she completed a Fashion Makeup course at Samala Robinson Academy in Auckland. The highlight of her time in New Zealand was being part of New Zealand Fashion week and The World of Wearable Arts Show and it was there that she realised she had found her true passion.

As well as having developed a passion for makeup, Maya had a great desire for travel and after 8 years in New Zealand, Maya was asked to go and work in Dubai. She focused on editorials and fashion shows, being part of Dubai Fashion Week which was a huge success.

After a couple of years in Dubai and gaining priceless experience, it was time to return home to London and focus on her freelance business ‘Maya Makeup’.

With a strong creative flair she continues to display her artistic gift working with her team of highly creative photographers and stylists. Maya is focusing on editorials, films and shows, as well as working with numerous private clients based in the UK and abroad.
